Vision, Mission, and Values

The Vision

To see the East End of Pittsburgh radically transformed by the power of God through the presence of multiple area congregations, on mission, being used by Christ for His Kingdom.

Our ultimate vision is not for a great church, but for a great City! We believe that the church exists as a tool for God’s mission to bring redemption and restoration to His creation. The dream is to see the poverty, violence, despair, injustice, division, and people’s separation from God within our city noticeably impacted by God working through the presence of the church.

The Mission

Seeking to be what God intended:

Seeking God’s intention for the individual, the church, and the world

We believe that in the beginning God created all things good. But because of the rebellion of man, things are not the way they were intended to be. Yet as Christians we also believe that God is in the process of “putting things to right”. This restoration that will culminate in the establishment of a “New Heavens and New Earth” has begun through the death and physical resurrection of Christ. As the church we are called to be a sign or reflection of God’s coming restoration, here and now, within our own city. Being united with Christ we are being transformed individually into who God created us to be, we are called corporately as the church to live in community as God originally intended, and we are to to serve our city reflecting God’s intention within the community in which we live.
